OmniBeam for Windows: get the free app from the Microsoft Store

OmniBeam is in the Microsoft Store. The app opens OmniBeam in its own window, starts from the Start menu or the taskbar, and shows up in the Windows Share menu, so you can send files to your iPhone or Android phone without opening the browser first.

Get OmniBeam from the Microsoft Store

Install

  1. Open the OmniBeam page in the Microsoft Store and click Get. It's free, with no account and no ads.
  2. Open OmniBeam from the Start menu. To keep it one click away, right-click its icon on the taskbar and choose Pin to taskbar.

Works on Windows 10 and 11. The app updates itself every time OmniBeam gets better, so there is nothing to download again.

Pair your phone once

  1. On the phone, open omnibeam.site. On the same Wi‑Fi, the PC shows up by itself.
  2. On a different network, click the link button in the app on the PC and scan its QR code with the phone's camera, or type the 6-digit code.
  3. On the phone, open the Pair screen and tick Trusted next to the PC, so its files arrive without asking.

Send from the PC

Send from Chrome or Edge: the OmniBeam extension

The extension sends the page you're on, a link, an image or selected text to your phone with a right-click. Add it from the Chrome Web Store; it works in Microsoft Edge too.

Prefer a tray icon and the Send to menu?

The older tray app is still available if you want an icon next to the clock and OmniBeam in the right-click Send to menu. It needs Node.js 22 or newer: download the tray app (ZIP), unzip it into a folder you'll keep and double-click install-tray.cmd. For most people the Microsoft Store app is the easier choice.

Files go directly between your devices whenever the network allows it, and are always encrypted end to end.
