About OmniBeam

OmniBeam is a free, zero-install tool for sending files and text between your devices, near or far.

Moving a photo from a phone to a laptop should not need a cable, an account or an app. OmniBeam works in the browser you already have: open the site on two devices and send. It works between iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac and Linux, in English, Arabic, French, Spanish, Turkish, German, Portuguese, Hindi and Indonesian.

How it works

OmniBeam uses WebRTC, the same technology as browser video calls, to connect your devices directly and encrypt the data end to end. The OmniBeam server only introduces the devices to each other. When a direct connection is impossible, the server relays the transfer, still end-to-end encrypted and without storing it.

To send a file to someone who isn't online at the same time, you can also share it by link: the file is encrypted in your browser before it is uploaded, and the key is only in the link you share.

Who makes it

OmniBeam is made by Yazeed Bdour. For feedback, ideas or bug reports, send a message on Facebook.
